§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 28:7   Thought/Prayer:  Strength.  Joy.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him.”  (AKJV)  Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com

Someone shared with me about a difficult time, and her prayer request was for strength.  Later, the scripture Nehemiah 8:10 came to mind which concludes with Nehemiah saying,  “’ . . . for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.’” (AKJV)  A search for the word “strength” in the Bible also led me to the first scripture above, Psalm 28:7.  To explore this a bit in a devotion or two here, Psalm 28:7 tells us the Lord is our strength . . . and also our shield.  When we trust in Him, He will help us.  Then do our hearts rejoice greatly, and we sing songs of praise.

Rejoicing includes joy.  ReJOYing.  Perhaps “joying” more than once – repeating our joy.  How we need to pass on to others this JOY, and the reasons for it. We “joy” because we trust in God Who is our strength and our shield.  And when we do trust in Him, then His character can work in and through us, and this can come through our joy in Him and on to others.

Maybe we counsel someone on LIFE-and-death issues.  We just don’t have all of the answers, but if we share that God is our Trust and that He has the answers so difficult for us humans to see, then maybe these we counsel can see some of His light in us, through His joy in us.  Ongoing trust in Him can indeed allow His character to come through us, to others.

This, of course, means that we need to stay close to Him in many ways.  It takes our commitment of time and effort here.  But if we think of others and their need to know Him, perhaps through seeing Him in us, then we may be more willing to put forth what it takes to keep Him first in our lives . . . and then others can greatly benefit.

Lord, help us to want to do this.  Help us to be willing to commit to staying close to you.  Help us stay close to you for strength and joy for ourselves and others.

Topics:  Pray for stamina to keep close to God in order that He may be seen through us to impact others in our lives.
