§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 30:1-5 (Pt. 5)  Thought/Prayer:  Raises, Heals, Keeps.  Topics:  2 at end.

“I will extol thee, O Jehovah; for thou hast raised me up, And hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
O Jehovah my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
O Jehovah, thou hast brought up my soul from Sheol; Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
Sing praise unto Jehovah, O ye saints of his, And give thanks to his holy memorial name.
For his anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a life-time: Weeping may tarry for the night, But joy cometh in the morning.”  ASV (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

There are three actions that God takes with us as depicted here. He raises us up.  He heals us.  He keeps us alive.

He raises us from somewhere . . . somewhere not as high as He is.  Nothing (and no one) is as high as He is, so we continually must rely on Him to raise us up.  When we are sometimes down in the sticky mud of our lives, we look to Him for a hand-up.  Psalm 40:2:  “He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.”  WEB We may say we are mired down with troubles or work or whatever.  He will always extend a helping hand when we look up and call out to Him.

We all need His healing.  This can be physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and more.  Sometimes when we’ve been stuck in the mud of life’s roads, we need healing, and it may be spiritual.  Maybe it is sin that has catches us and gummies up our boots or flip-flops.  But our sin is never too big and sticky that He cannot forgive.

If our problems are physical, He is the ultimate healer, whether it be directly from His hand or through the hands and minds of our doctors.  Mental healing may be more difficult to see sometimes.  Mental illness is difficult to understand because sometimes it is not readily obvious.  But He can heal.  There are many who look back at a decade earlier and see how far He has brought them in outlook and attitude and accomplishment in spite of issues of the mind.  For these, we pray for the mind of Christ to seem very present to them. I Corinthians 2:16:  “For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”  AKJV

Perhaps we all have emotional issues that we need to make available to God for healing.  Our emotions are God-given but can bog us down.  But again, He extends His strong arm to lift us up.  This uplifting may come through Bible verses He reminds us of with perfect timing.  And God will keep us alive up until the very second we breathe our last on Earth.  But we must pray for those preborn slated for abortion – that they will come to breathe the millions of breaths God gives them on Earth, having been brought into Earth’s offering of air for our breathing.

Lord, thank You for all You do for us.  Guide us in helping others see that You can do all of these things for them.  Guide our thoughts and words as we speak of You . . . that then LIFE decisions will be made in accordance with the knowledge of Your care for us and for the preborn and the elderly.
