§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 37:39,40 (Pt. 3) Thought/Prayer:  Two Words of Assistance. Topics: 2 at end.

“But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.”  (AKJV)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Let us look a bit more at the word, “trust.”  But ahead of the word trust in this Psalm, there are two great words of assistance:  deliver and save.  And we will see that the three words are tied together.

Trust is the basic word.  But the word because is the connecting and also foundational word between deliver and save.  Deliver and save rest upon because, in that . . . Because a person trusts in the Lord, He will deliver; He will save.  If we do not trust Him, we will not give ourselves over to Him and His workings in our lives.

This is not that He never helps those who do not trust in Him, such as those who do not know Him as Savior and Lord.  No, he often does wonderful things for these people as He attempts to bring them to a knowledge of Him, always calling them.  Maybe this happened with your pathway to salvation!

But when we are believers, He is able to do so much more in our lives if we will TRUST.  How hard is this to do?  Sometimes easy, sometimes difficult.  Of course, we trust our cars to carry us across a busy intersection; we trust the traffic signals to work properly; we trust other drivers even though we have no idea who they are.

But when it comes to faith-trusting, so much seems unseen.  However, as believers, we already trust a physically unseen God, although the results of His interactions with us can be (not always but quite often) readily seen.  Maybe it is not such a big stretch to trust Him enough to receive his deliverances and savings in our lives.

Of course, the biggest aspect here is that, when we believe, we are delivered from eternal punishment.  We are saved from judgment that condemns us to hell.  Surely, then, when we really consider it, we can trust Him to save us from daily entanglements and sin and threats.  And, when we are rescued, then we can tell others how great our God is because we trust Him to deliver and save in thousands of manners.

Lord, thank You first for offering the salvation through Jesus Christ that is the cornerstone of life.  And help us to be faithful to pray for others who need saving and delivering very much.  Help us to do what we can when we consider LIFE issues and death issues that are swirling all around us.  Help people in the midst to first know You and then to choose LIFE.

Topics:  Thank God for salvation and for the way He saves us and delivers us so regularly in our lives.
