§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 37: 23,24 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Sadness and Self-Scorn.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delights in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholds him with his hand.”  (AKJV) (Read this scripture and more at

How cast down do we get when we fall?  How long we sometimes go around with sadness and self-scorn because we have let others down.  We may feel that we have let down not only ourselves by not adhering to standards we have set for ourselves . . . but have let down other persons, few or many.  Most of all, we may feel we have let down God; and this may lead us to regret that we have not held our witness for Him to its highest point.

Even the apostle Paul, a man we have admired over the ages for His stand and witness for Christ, wrote of this struggle.  In Romans 7:19, he confesses that the good he wants to do, he doesn’t do.  And the evil he doesn’t want to do, he does.  But in verse 7:25 he tells us that even though his flesh goes badly awry, with his mind he serves God’s law.

The Psalm above was written far before Paul’s time, but Paul must have personally known, all those years after the Psalm, that though he fell, God still upheld Him.  This is perhaps part of following God’s law with his mind.  Paul knew that God’s law is one of love.  Jesus came to demonstrate this law personally in His body of flesh while on Earth.

So those who either are Christians, or those who are not, will experience “falling.”  When we know someone who has experienced this in a LIFE area, possibly committing sin unto a totally unwanted circumstance, we have opportunity to pray for them, that they will understand how God loves them and wants to help them up.  We can pray that their self-scorn will become a praise unto God and because they turn to Him, they will know His helping hand and will then be able to make good choices about their situation.  Choices of hope, informed by God.

Topics:  Pray for God’s beauty and faithfulness to touch those who have become downcast because of decisions they have made.
