§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 37: 23,24   Thought/Prayer:  A Hands-Up.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delights in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholds him with his hand.”  (AKJV) (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

“A good man is hard to find,” we sometimes say.  Do you believe it?  It seemingly is true, with our world full of hate, violence and anger.  Well, there are many “good men” “out there.”  Most of us know quite a few!  Are “good men” perfect?  No!  (Neither are good women, for all of us humans fall short of God’s glory – Romans 3:23.)  We see here that God delights in good men and helps them in their walks in life.

But there is something more.  And this has to do with all of us, also . . . men and women.  “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down:  for the LORD upholds him with his hand.”  God knows better than anyone that we human beings not only come short of His glory:  We fall.  We disappoint Him.  We do not follow His commands.  We make conscious, saddening choices that take us out of fellowship until we confess and are forgiven.

Enough about that.  We are assured here, that God will help us when we do fall.  Who is it that helps us back up?  The LORD Himself.  There can be no greater hand extended down to us, than that of our LORD.  How amazing that our LORD understands us well enough to realize our frailties and shortcomings and still reaches out to help us when we show ourselves once again imperfect before Him.

Families in LIFE crises, especially if there were bad choices along the way, may feel that they have fallen and are beyond receiving any attention from God, let alone any help.  They may be blocking out of vision the hand that wants to help pull them back up.  Many do not know that God is a God of forgiveness and second chances.  Many feel they are beyond “repair” because of they mess they feel they have made of their lives.

This is where we must pray.  Pray that no young women with a pregnancy from promiscuous activities will consider herself beyond God’s love.  Pray that the young father who insisted on intimate relationships and now has a pregnant girlfriend may see the light of Christ and God’s helping hand.

Lord, we pray for these.  Send someone to help them, someone who knows You and has Your caring in their hearts.  It is true, Lord, that such a young woman and such a man may not be “good,” as described in this scripture.  But, Lord, You look upon the hearts of men.  We ask that You will shed Your love on such as these of whom we speak; and that they will firmly grab Your extended hand to help them up.

Topics:  Pray for those who need a hand-up from God, especially in LIFE struggles.
