To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 69:30 Thought/Prayer: The Song They Know Best. Topics: 2 at end.
“I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.” KJV (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)
It’s pretty delightful, when playing the piano for the elder citizens in health care at the senior home. They enjoy the songs, and volunteers from the independent area come to bolster the combined voices from the skilled nursing area. We begin by singing hymns or other Christian songs. Then we launch in to some faster-paced secular songs, from over many decades.
Sometimes if there’s a song in ¾ time, someone may get up and waltz a few steps. There are holiday songs, special-day songs, and lots of old-time romantic pieces. Every week has a different set of songs, repeated about every 3 months.
But the song that’s sung every week and with the most participation and enjoyment, the song sung with the most gusto is “Jesus Loves Me, This I Know.” And I find that extra delightful, just really extra delightful. Most of those elders have probably known that song since early childhood, and it has “stuck.” They know the words, they know the tune, and they love the meaning it seems.
It is quite beautiful, and I thank the Lord for the blessing of noticing this and appreciating it week after week. It helps me realize that the elderly can enjoy the message of Jesus, no matter their age, and if these varied persons were not allowed to join their voices up to God, the world would be a lesser place. We must always fight for citizens such as these, that they may live their lives to the fullest no matter age or ability.
Topics: Pray for appreciation of the elderly and their contributions to society, if only through the relishing of a song, sung about the Lord, and to him.
