Psalm 75:1 Thought/Prayer: His Works and His Name. Topics: 2 at end.
When we think about God’s created wonders, we do give thanks for His hand in all of it. It is unspeakably awesome. Actually, we do not need to speak to attempt a description of our joy in it; the works themselves proclaim it. Where His creative works are, there is His name. In His works, His Name is seen.
We see His name in the natural order: mountains, rivers, canyons, butterflies, flowers. We are unable to explain how it all works, how it all got here – except that it is God planned it all and brought it into being. Therein lies the praise: His Name is near. The works shout it out.
In His creation of mankind, we also cannot explain. You or I cannot understand how the breath of our life came to reside within us. We are part of His works. He is near.
Our offspring declare His greatness and powers. Every newborn baby declares that He is near; how can anyone not see it? It is just so obvious, the intricate planning and power that went into the creation of any new person, breathing their God-inspired breath.
Lord, help us to appreciate each and every portion of Your creation with which we come in contact. And this is ongoing; everywhere; never-ending. We cannot be somewhere where you are not near. It all came from you. Help us to be thankful always, and especially we pray that newborn babies will bring thoughts of You and Your Name to all who witness their surpassing intricate excellence.
Topics: Pray for appreciation of God’s creation and give great praise.
