§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 76:1-4   Thought/Prayer:  Resplendent.  Topics: 2 at end.

“In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel.
His tent is in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.
There he broke the flashing arrows,
the shields and the swords, the weapons of war.

Selah

You are resplendent with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game.”  NIV 1984 Scripture quotations taken from THE HOLY BIBLE, NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION®, NIV®. Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society®. Used by permission.

A word caught my eye here:  resplendent.  Not really thinking about it, just noticing it, brought mind images of brilliance and splendor.  I think of shining brightly, light radiating out.  Upon pondering this word, maybe there could be the image of something splendid that is “re”- splendid:  Being splendid over and over.

However we picture the graphics of this word, it is not the word upon which we should focus.  Instead, we must focus upon the object of description here.  Well, not an object really – a Person.  The Person is God.

It is God who is being praised here, with this wonderful word.  He is the one who is brightly shining . . . resplendently.  If he were to come into our home today, appearing in this brightness, would we even be able to look?  He would be so bright we would probably need to avert our eyes.  In fact, we cannot even hope to imagine how beautiful He would be.

Maybe if we are in the dark depths of depression or sorrow, His beauteous light would be just what we need.  And surely He would reveal just enough of His light to us, as we are down in the depths, to allow our eyes to adjust; and then He would minister to us with His character of light.  “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”  John 8:12, KJV.

He gives us as much of His light as we can take in at any given moment.  To those going through the challenges of determining how to view an unplanned pregnancy or urges from others to end the life of one who suffers much continuing pain, He and His light is what they need.

Lord, let us be faithful to pray that He will reveal Himself to those in these situations so as to guide their thoughts and decisions into His lighted pathways that He has for them.  We must pray His light into their lives for them.

Topics: Pray for more and more of Christ’s life to be shining on Earth, especially for those with difficult LIFE situations.
