§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 8   Thought/Prayer:  Psalm 8 and Mankind.  Topics:  2 at end.

“How Majestic is Your Name!
1O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth! who have set your glory above the heavens.
2Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings have you ordained strength because of your enemies, that you might still the enemy and the avenger.
3When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;
4What is man, that you are mindful of him? and the son of man, that you visit him?
5For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and have crowned him with glory and honor.
6You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet:
7All sheep and oxen, yes, and the beasts of the field;
8The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
9O LORD our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth!”  (AKJV) (Read these scriptures and more at

This awesome song of praise extols God for His excellent name.  Praise God for His excellency.  Amen and amen.

It bases the theme of the Psalm around His excellency not only in the creation of the heavens, animals, fowl, fish . . . but of mankind.  It tells us how God made mankind to be over the works of God’s hands and how God made mankind responsible to take care of all the animals, birds, and fish He created.

All of us human beings should rejoice that this Psalm is in the Bible.  It gives us, from God, a certain dignity because of the part He created for us in His plan for life on Earth.

This begins with the birth of the babies He allows us to create.  There is a purpose for each conceived baby; it is to find each baby’s place in the world as God directs.

How can we not, then, be pro-life in nature?  How can we not give ourselves to preserving every conceived life on Earth?  Can we not partner with God in carrying out His purposes for the people He creates on Earth?

Lord, help us to do this.  Help us to be worthy of the charge You gave mankind, according to this Psalm, to responsibly carry out Your plan . . . and to stand for Your created LIFE.  We thank You for the opportunity You have given us in this and for the honor You have bestowed on us.

Topics:  Pray for the dedication to carry out what God has in mind for each of us, as we gives our lives to life on Earth and created LIFE.
