§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 92:12-14   Thought/Prayer:  Unexpected Gifts.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The righteous shall shoot forth like a palm-tree; he shall grow like a cedar on Lebanon.  Those that are planted in the house of Jehovah shall flourish in the courts of our God:  They are still vigorous in old age, they are full of sap and green; . . .” DBT (Read these scriptures and more at

She cannot remember that she lives in a senior care facility, but she can sing like a nightingale, pure and sweet, soprano.  Another lady cannot remember anything much, but she can play the piano, using skills God gave her decades ago when she was born.  There are two other ladies the same:  They live in a memory support facility and have to be led to lunch and back to their rooms; but they can sit and play the piano by ear until they have to stop.  There’s a gentleman who plays “all over the piano” without music.  He is quite popular with the residents there.

This is so amazing, these gifts that God gives some of His children, gifts that are there until they are no longer remembered to be used.  How is it that someone can play an instrument or sing beautifully when the part of their aspect that is daily living is increasingly impaired.

It must be that, yes, God gives gifts to men (Ephesians 4:8).  The beauty of the gifts of artistic talent is appreciated by all.  And when these remain, although the mind has failed significantly, perhaps they seem extra special.  How is it that this can even work?  How can someone remember how to use their talents?  What a surprising gift!

It’s just a blessing from God.  Of course, we can say that the skills once used “way back” may still come to the surface.  But it seems more than that.  Just a blessing.  It seems to be God pulling something beautiful up and out into the warmth of sunshine.

Lord, we thank you for these persons suffering from their memory deficiencies but who are remaining green, on and on.  Help us to appreciate this gift You are bringing to the forefront for all to enjoy.  Help us to never discount the elderly, infirm, or just the forgetful.  We are all Yours, Lord, and we praise You for reinforcing their worth with beautiful gifts of the arts.

Topics:  Praise God for the gifts He gives to men (and women) that surprise us with their unexpected beauty .
