§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 98:4 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  The Extra Crush of Things.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.”  WBS (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

When holidays and gift-giving come around, how are we in spirit as well as in action?  Do we see happiness all around us and in our own hearts, or are we Grinch-like toward all the extra demands that are placed upon us especially at Christmas?  It’s easy to be carbon copies of that Grinchy character who tried to steal Christmas in the book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss.

Most of us probably rail against all of the extra “stuff” that the Christmas season brings with it.  We keep telling ourselves that the season should be more calm, a season to honor the coming of the Christ child.  But, alas, it rarely is.  And we can become quite jaded about it:  “I’m totally dreading Christmas this year,” is heard all too often.

But, this season seems to be a fact of life.  There seems to be no really   easy way to combat the trend of business that may be seen as “inflicted” upon us.  So, most of us just accept the fact of the rush at Christmas and do our best at dealing with it.  Perhaps if we think of the Grinch in the story and his efforts to do away with Christmas all together.  Do we want to have mean-looking countenances like his (most of the way through the story)?

No, we want to do our best to get through the trappings and wrappings and find a bit of time to sit and reflect on the true meaning:  Christ the Saviour is born.  If we try hard enough, these times can be found.  But try we must!

Lord, help us to find time at Christmas to reflect on Your coming in to the world and more importantly into our hearts.  We want to honor you in our hearts – and in some way in our dealing with the extra crush of things.  Help us to try to remember You at all times, even when feeling Grinchy and perturbed.  Help us to still serve people with pro-life issues, even through all the hubbub.  We want to do this, Lord, to maintain Your honor at Christmas.

Topics:  Pray for the ability to honor Christ during the Christmas season and do still be available to serve those who need help with LIFE questions.
