§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Revelation 2:24-28   Thought/Prayer:  Shine, Morning Star.  Shine.  Topics:  2 at end.

“But to you, the rest of you in Thyateira, all who do not hold this teaching and are not the people who have learnt the “deep things,” as they call them (the deep things of Satan!) Only that which you already possess, cling to until I come. “‘And to him who overcomes and obeys My commands to the very end, I will give authority over the nations of the earth. And he shall be their shepherd, ruling them with a rod of iron, just as earthenware jars are broken to pieces; and his power over them shall be like that which I Myself have received from My Father; and I will give him the Morning Star.”  (WEY)  Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

In the book of Revelation, most of the message to the church in Thyateira (an ancient city in Greece where there was a large congregation of Christians) has to do with condemnation by the Son of God for activities that are exceedingly evil.  But, beginning in verse 24, the tone turns in the opposite direction and those in Thyateira who have not accepted the teachings of the wicked.

Just see what they are promised as they hold fast to the true teachings of God.  They are told to cling to what they have in the Lord.

There are some really big promises to those who keep the faith, too big for this writing.  But the beautiful piece of this is . . . to the one who keeps the faith:  “. . . and I will give him the Morning Star.”  The morning star is a common name for the planet Venus as it appears in the eastern morning sky ahead of sunrise.  It is the bringer of the day.  And stars are associated with lighted brightness and beauty.  Maybe there is never anything so beautiful as a star.  Sometimes they even are considered royalty. (The star of Bethlehem was royal.)  In fact, Jesus Christ is Himself the Morning Star (Revelation 22:16).

We who are faithful will be given this beauty of the morning star, both symbolically and of Christ Himself.  We who believe carry the star, we might say.  In fact, we are light.  In the Sermon on the Mount, Christ says, “You are the light of the world . . . ” (Matthew 5:14a).  Just the knowledge that the faithful in Thyateira were given the morning star brings us joy.  What a promise!

It is our inheritance to receive the Morning Star, Christ the Lord.  It is also our task.  We live in His light and pass it on to others.  Others may include our neighbor next door; an old friend; or a family in dire straits because of end-of-life issues . . . someone we may not even know.  But as we live the beauty of the Morning Star, His radiance will go out from us and on to those who need Him.  Our prayers may enhance myriads of lives, unbeknownst to us.

Lord, help us to be faithful as those in Thyateira were, those who did not succumb to the evils of the day.

The prophet Zechariah speaks of Israel’s coming king.
“Yahweh their God will save them in that day as the flock of his people; for they are like the jewels of a crown, lifted on high over his land.” (Zechariah 9:16).  Even little children believe.  They are members of His flock.  There is a public-domain song called “Jewels,” by William O. Cushing in 1856 and George F. Root,1866.

1. When He cometh, when He cometh,
To make up His jewels,
All His jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.

o Refrain:
Like the stars of the morning,
His bright crown adorning,
They shall shine in their beauty,
Bright gems for His crown.

2. He will gather, He will gather
The gems for His kingdom,
All the pure ones, all the bright ones,
His loved and His own.

3. Little children, little children,
Who love their Redeemer,
Are the jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.

o Refrain:
Like the stars of the morning,
His bright crown adorning,
They shall shine in their beauty,
Bright gems for His crown.”

The children in mothers’ wombs today can be the Lord’s flock of tomorrow.  They will shine as gems in His crown.  Just as the Morning Star.

Topics:  Praise the Lord for the Morning Star.  Call on Him as we stand for the sanctity of created life.  Shine.
Pray for those in LIFE struggles, daily, and Shine.
