§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Romans 12:4-8   Thought/Prayer:  What Gifts?  Topics:  2 at end.

“For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don’t have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching; or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.”  WEB (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Here is a great description of some of the different types of gifts with which God gifts men and women.  We see how varied they are in their aspects, including gifts of prophecy, faith, service, teaching, exhortation, giving, ruling, and mercy.  And no one Christian person has all of these as strong points.  At least I’ve never known someone who was really great at all of these!  Yes, we know Christian brothers and sisters who are definitely gifted in some of these areas.  But usually one or two stand forth as strongest while the others show up in lesser degree . . . or seemingly not at all, although we may all have parts of all of these with us in some way.

Yes, we are all to “preach” the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, but how many of us will fill sanctuaries all over the nation as an evangelist?  Or how many of us who can sing will ever be the paid soprano at a large church accompanied by an expert organist at a hugely-ranked pipe organ.  Even this musician may have difficulty knowing how to manage other people in a church environment, manage people in the manner of a Sunday-school superintendent or manage people as needed to get a new sanctuary constructed.  No, we are not all good at everything.

But we do know that God has planned gifts for all of us to use for others as we allow Him to serve others through us.

The question is this:  What gifts are extinguished before they ever fire up in service?  What gifts lie within a mother’s womb never to be exercised in life?  What are the gifts we will never know of because life never was allowed to exist in the first place?

We’ll never know.  Pray harder for abortion to cease!
