To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Song of Solomon 2:1 (Pt. 5) Thought/Prayer: Both Lily and Rose. Topics: 2 at end.
“I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.” AKJV (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)
Both lilies and roses have fragrance. However, the rose of Sharon does not. The lily of the valley’s fragrance is “tiny,” we might say, since the plant’s bell-shaped flowers are tiny. However, the fragrance is so sweet that perhaps it makes up for the smallness.
Our Lord is both the fragrant Lily of the Valley and the colorful but non-fragrant Rose of Sharon. So does one plant or the other trump the other in beauty or meaning? Not at all. How could it be? If our Lord is both, then there are characteristics of both that are both good and beautiful.
The lily of the valley graces our feet . . . perhaps as we carry the Good News to others. Blessed are those feet that do that (Isaiah 52:7)! The rose of Sharon flares out colors. Perhaps this attracts more attention from the world, in general, than the lilies do. Color – or sweetness – Our Lord is both. Those who love Him know how He colors our lives with His watch care and input into our lives as we walk through our days. Perhaps it is impossible for the light of Christ to shine on us without changing the hues of our lives, just as the sun will alter colors wherever it shines. Something in the shadows will appear differently-colored when the sun gets a go at shining on it.
Our Lord thank You for Your manifestations of Your Self in categories we can know about, can understand. Who is it that cannot appreciate a fragrant or a colorful flower? It’s marvelous that in appreciation of flowers, we can also appreciate You.
Topics: Thank the Lord for His Earthly illustrations of Who He is. Ask Him to be able to help others understand this and how this Lily of the Valleys/Rose of Sharon can also make beautiful their lives and the lives of those for whom they are concerned in LIFE issues.
