§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Zechariah 8:1-5 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  City of Truth.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Again the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.  Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.  And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.”  KJV http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

Jerusalem:  A city of truth.  What is a city of truth?  How does a city become such?

The answer lies with Jerusalem’s greatest inhabitant:  God.  The LORD says that he will dwell there, in the midst (not just on the outskirts as a journalistic observer).  God is going to mix it up with the people.

Guess what.  God is truth.  Jesus says it (and Jesus was God) in John 14:6.  “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.”  God, just being somewhere, makes it truthful.  God, just living somewhere brings truth to the venue.

How do we make our cities today, of the truth?  We do not have a theocracy.  There are many forms of city government.  But how can a city be known for truth?  Center on God.  Just bring Him to the forefront.  Live Godly lives.  Pray, believe, read the Word.  And share!

Share a cup of sugar for a neighbor’s cookies; share a newspaper with someone elderly; but share faith.  If we keep our faith locked up in our houses, the chance for a city to become of the truth is greatly diminished.  The more citizens who do put God at the center, the more the town will grow in truth.

Lord, we pray today that we will willingly share our Lord with others, in whatever form, whether speaking, writing, or doing deeds of mercy.  Help us, also in the process, where appropriate, to speak up for LIFE, directly or indirectly—the life of our Lord within us, yes, but also the LIFE of the vulnerable.  Help us to be faithful in this.

Topics:  Pray today to be able to share about Jesus Who is Truth and also about the truth of LIFE as we battle for it always.
