§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Zephaniah 3:17 (Pt. 5)  Thought/Prayer:  Incredibly: Resting Love.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The LORD your God in the middle of you is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over you with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over you with singing.”  AKJ (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

We are told here that God will not only rejoice over us with joy, but that He will rest in His love.  What a peaceful statement.  But what does it mean?  God will rest in his love?.

To give a possible example, think of a great love between a man and a woman.  If the love itself is great enough to inspire confidence and trust, as well as the physical attraction and romance, will not each party in this love be considered able to rest within it?  When we love someone enough, and we know they love us back, there is something peaceful about it . . . peaceful beyond just the affection and the courtship.  When we are resting in someone’s love, we are at peace and without struggle.  We don’t have to worry about the foundation of the love.  This could be seen such as in a special relationship between a grandparent and grandchild.  It’s just a love that is so solid that it brings a rest.

Here we’re told that God rests in His love.  Humanly speaking, it is absolutely overwhelmingly impossible to know what God’s true and pure 100% love is like except as He shows it to us uniquely in our individual lives.  This is plenty, we say!  And it is.  Yes, His love as we are able to absorb it, is enough.

But now picture Him loving us enough to also rest Himself in this love He has for us.  He rests in His own love!  Maybe it means there is no striving on His part to love us.  He relaxes in it.  He loves us, and He is sure of it, and He can rest in that knowledge.  It’s beyond all comprehension.  But that makes it extra beautiful and soothing for us.

Oh, Lord, we cannot fathom the depths of this resting, assured love.  But we know that because you rest within it, it is something awesome and true; we can scarcely picture anything more holy:  You Lord, in love, gently leaning back to rest.

Topics:  Ponder this love in which God Himself rests.  His peace about it is available for all who believe.  Help us to reach others and especially those carrying the unborn.
Pray that all pro-LIFE individuals who are Christian will understand the depth of the resting love of God, and that those who have not yet come to know Him will . . . and will also experience that great love of forever.
