2 Corinthians 6:3-10 (P t. 2)  Thought/Prayer: On the Right and On the Left.  Topics:  2 at end.

“We put no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger;  by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed;  as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.  English Standard Version (ESV)  Scripture quotations are from the Holy Bible, English Standard Version, copyright © 2001 by Crossway Bibles, a division of Good News Publishers. God empowers us completely.  Here among all types of extremely challenging potential happenings, we see that not only do we have weapons for one hand, but two.  I guess we could say, it doesn’t matter if a person is left-handed or right-handed, there is a weapon that will work!  And should a person be ambidextrous, there would be possible greatness of battle.

And not only do we have weapons for both hands, maneuvering this way and that against obstacles, they are weapons of righteousness.  From Whom do we get our righteousness, we unrighteous people?  From the Lord God.  He is our righteousness, (Jeremiah 23:6).  So in the end, how can we lose?  We not only have the righteousness of our God, we wield it right and left, left and right.  There is more than one way to attack an enemy.  And Christians have the military tools to come from any angle we are shown.

In the pro-life battle, there are lefties, righties, and ambi-ies, we might say.  A person who is right-handed cannot imagine having the strength and dexterity to overpower an enemy with the left hand!  And the opposite goes for lefties.  Maybe we all wish we had great power for finesse in both hands.  But alas, that is not the general plan.

When we see someone going after a pro-life issue in a different manner than we would, maybe we should consider that they are stronger in areas different from those we attack.  But the main point is, that we must use our weapons, no matter how we are gifted in their use.  God has made us all with gifts and skills.  We just need to apply them!

Lord, help us be sensitive to how you would have us fight the battle for LIFE.  Guide us into activities and organizations that will use our skills of attack in the manner You plan.  We want to use Your gifts to Your glory and for the life of babies and other vulnerable of society.

Topics:  Pray for wisdom in using our God-given weapons for LIFE.
