Acts 8:14   God, You Know Who They Are

“Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit; . . . .”

My Bible is fat.  It’s of medium size anyway, and with years of usage, pages thicken over time.  But my Bible is especially chubby because it endured being dropped, center-open, into a mud puddle.  The result is a rather ruffled effect on many pages.  This mishap occurred while I was walking to the local abortion mill to pray.  Of course, the Word of God is not deterred by any circumstance in any place.  Even the greatly disliked Samaritans received the Word.  Unexpectedly pregnant women can be made to feel like Samaritans—unloved and second-best.  But God’s word reaches these women too; it doesn’t matter if a Bible someone brings to the darkness of an abortion mill, has a little mud on it.  Doesn’t matter at all.  Lord, we ask to “pray your Word” into the hearts of these mothers, even when we don’t know who they are.  You do:  That’s what matters.
