Deuteronomy 11:18-21 (Pt. 5)  Thought/Prayer:  Poetic Rhythm.  Topics:  2 at end.

Remember God’s Words
Therefore shall you lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign on your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall teach them your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates: That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven on the earth.”  (AKJV)  (Read this scripture and more at

If we are to be so very busy about laying up God’s words in our hearts, why not put this scripture to a bit of free verse?  It might go something like this:

To the Lord:
Help me . . .
. . . Lay up, Lay up, Lay up the words.
Heart and Soul . . . filled with Your words.

As I work, guiding my hands.
In my vision, between my eyes placed
    as a tiny leather box, Your words inside.

Help me:
Teach.  I shall.  My children.
Help me Sitting, to Claim;
Walking. Alongside;
Lying down; Here they are!
Rising up, Still there.

Bless . . .
Scriptures on my wall.
Invisible Prayer Words onto my doors . . .
And on gates.

Lord, I claim the multiplication of my days,
And the days of my children;

Because of Your Word,
May they be as the days of
Heaven on Earth.

Lord, bless these scriptures set to a bit of a rhythm.  Help us to get into the rhythm of learning and applying Your Word, just as we see it here.  Thank you for the return in blessings.
