Ephesians 3:14-19   Thought/Prayer:  Strengthened in Power.  Topics:  2 at end.

Paul’s Prayer for the Ephesians
For this reason, on bended knee I beseech the Father, from whom the whole family in Heaven and on earth derives its name,  to grant you—in accordance with the wealth of His glorious perfections—to be strengthened by His Spirit with power penetrating to your inmost being. I pray that Christ may make His home in your hearts through your faith; so that having your roots deep and your foundations strong, in love, you may become mighty to grasp the idea, as it is grasped by all God’s people, of the breadth and length, the height and depth— yes, to attain to a knowledge of the knowledge-surpassing love of Christ, so that you may be made complete in accordance with God’s own standard of completeness.”  (AKJV)  Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

This scripture holds such a wealth of hope through prayer, for believers.  And there is a superb aspect that can be created in prayer here.

As believers pray for one another, this is a scripture into which names may be inserted to personalize the powerful words as an application in their lives.  Let’s look at how that can be.

If we use the ubiquitous “John Doe,” we might pray from verse 14, “that God will grant ‘John’—in accordance with the wealth of His [God’s] glorious perfection – to be strengthened by His Spirit with power penetrating to John’s inmost being.”  That would be a powerful prayer for John or for “Mary Doe” or anyone whose name would be inserted.

As God answers this prayer, the person for whom this would be prayed would experience strengthening by the Holy Spirit.  And not only this, but the Spirit’s power would penetrate to his or her inmost being.”  Powerful power from the Spirit.  Powerful prayer in asking for it.  Perhaps this is a way of praying that could make great changes in a person’s life and in the world.

For those of us who pray for Christians who stand for the sanctity of created LIFE, perhaps this prayer out of verse 14 could be a foundational one.  Those brave and committed folks need God’s strength through the Holy Spirit.  There is no stronger force ever than that of the Holy Spirit.  It was the Spirit Who hovered over the Earth at creation.  Genesis 1:1:  “Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep. God’s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.”  (WEB)  Speaking of animals and the Earth:  Psalm 104:30 “You send forth your spirit, they are created: and you renew the face of the earth.”

Yes, let us pray for one another in the depth of this scripture.  Thank You, Lord, for words such as these.  Help us to claim them for others, for Your power to be manifested in each “in most being.”

Topics:  Pray these words for those working in pro-Life areas and for others you know of who need God’s strength greatly.
