Ephesians 4:7, No. 2 (Pt. 2) - Never Wonder about Grace
Thought/Prayer: Topics: 2 at end.
“But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” http://www.bible.com (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)
Sometimes we may wonder about the grace given to us. It is definitely a gift of Christ, but we may wonder if we are either (a) worthy to receive this gift or (b) given as much as someone else, indicating perhaps a tendency to compare our Christian walk with that of another’s.
Hesitations about worthiness can easily be overcome when we realize that grace is a gift – and gifts are not earned – a true gift is truly free. It’s because we are free in Christ, not bogged down with working to receive from Him, that we can free our selves of worrying about worthiness. He loves us “just ‘cause.”
As to comparison - Oh . . . a treacherous pathway. From an evangelist whose preaching allows God’s spirit to work in the hearts of millions, to the person who for years serves out of a tent in a desert village with a handful of converts, it all adds up, it all counts. No matter how insignificant our service may seem, it’s all huge to God. Lord, let us receive your grace gratefully and without hesitation or second-guessing. Lord, let this grace work its miracles in the lives of pro-life persons and those to whom they model Your grace.
