I Peter 2:6 (Pt. 2), I Corinthians 3:6-9 Thought/Prayer:  Building Upright.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.”  (DBT)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

In addition, the apostle Paul is speaking to the Christians in the Corinth church about being fellow workers in Christian service.  I Corinthians 3:6-9   “I planted and Apollos watered; but it was God who was, all the time, giving the increase. So that neither the planter nor the waterer is of any importance. God who gives the increase is all in all. Now in aim and purpose the planter and the waterer are one; and yet each will receive his own special reward, answering to his own special work. Apollos and I are simply fellow workers for and with God, and you are *God’s* field— *God’s* building” (WNT).

This fits in with the consideration of Jesus Christ being the cornerstone of the buildings Christians build on faith.  It says right here in verse 9 that we are God’s field – and God’s building.  Yes, in our Christian walk we are His building . . . and our cornerstone is Christ.

Of course, we want our faith-building to go straight up, and with the correctly-set Cornerstone, it will.  Founded on Him as the base, our personal faith’s-building, straight-up, will stand upright – which, interestingly, is one of the ways we are to be.  Psalm 11:7 – “For the LORD is righteous; he loveth righteousness: the upright shall behold his face . . . (ERV).”  In life, we are to be upright in our ways, just as the buildings we construct by faith are to be.

When we serve others, such as in pro-LIFE work, when we strive to be upright, we are building our buildings with good intent.  And the outcome of that are gains toward pro-life ideals.  Lord, help us to always strive for uprightness and a straight-up building of our faith, based on your correctly and firmly placed cornerstone.

Topics:  Pray for wisdom in constructing your faith’s building, that it may be pleasing to God, as He directs.
