I Thessalonians 3:12,13 (Pt. 3)

Thought/Prayer:  Hearty Hearts.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows. May he, as a result, make your hearts strong, blameless, and holy as you stand before God our Father when our Lord Jesus comes again with all his holy people. Amen”

Paul’s prayer in this letter to the Christians at Thessalonica asks God to make their hearts strong and blameless before Him.  Could we interpret a strong heart as “having heart” for the task, having a purpose of heart strong toward God?  Good, healthy food makes our bodies strong.  A regular diet of Bible words (the most wonderful eating plan in the world) can bless us with the strength of God.

In Jeremiah 15:16 we are told to “eat” God’s Word, after we find them:  “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.”  After we find them, we get not only strength, but joy!

Our prayer today is that we find God’s words and incorporate them into our bodies for energy and usage.  Through reading our Bibles and meditating on God’s written meals for us, we can find strength for the tasks of our hearts whether it be for promoting life or for any other work.

Topics:  Pray that those in the pro-life war will not only dedicate themselves to the task but will seek God’s guidance today as to the particular aspect of their pursuits in the battle.

Pray for Peter Shinn, president of Pro-Life Unity, that he will find time to seek God’s word daily, God being the President of all LIFE.
