John 16:21 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:

Footprints In the Mud.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Whenever a woman is in labor she has pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a child has been born into the world.”

Whenever a mother travels the path into an abortion mill, “her hour” has come.  It is the hour of decision.  The very moments in time that she is there will determine whether she will have her true “hour,” the hour of joy that her child has been born into the world.

She probably does not realize this in the same way that those of us who care about her and her baby do; for she cannot be objective about the walk she is taking.  Although she may not realize it, she is confused and possibly misinformed.  Or she may be grieving because she wishes her footprints in the mud of death would head in the opposite direction, but the forceful opinions of others are prevailing.

We must pray today that the hours of joy due a woman who endures the labor of childbirth will be the only ones to even exist.  We must, because we have a great God who answers prayers, claim the hours of true joy for these women.

Our prayer today is that there will be thousands and thousands of unplanned joys springing into our world – those whose mothers are prayed away from those awful cold and unfeeling places – those whose mothers’ footsteps actually do turn and go in the other direction.

Pray for Peter Shinn’s ministry called “Organized for Life,” that it will get truly organized and productive.
