John 16:33   Thought/Prayer:  In Remembrance:  A Small Place of Good.  Topics:  2 at end.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”  (AKJV)  Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Americans go back in memories when September 11th comes around.  It was a non-forgettable day, no matter where you were or how you found out about the horrendous attack on the USA on 09-11-2001.  But there was one place nearby the World Trade Center carnage that stood unscathed:  St. Paul’s chapel, right across the street from the destruction in New York City.  It was virtually unharmed in spite of its close proximity to the attack.  According to online information, only one pane of glass was broken.

The chapel become a haven for rest and a meal for rescue and recovery personnel working at the site.  Perhaps on each anniversary of 9-1-1, thanksgiving should be made to God for providing such a venue of respite . . . a spared site with debris piled up all around . . . but yet undamaged.  The inner rooms would become a sanctuary for the weary.

We might want to sing in our hearts some praise to God for this small comfort in the face of shattered places.  Through that chapel, God in a small way “overcame” evil in the world.  We might want to remember our nation’s hymn, in honor of God and the memory of those who perished in the horror of that day.  Praise to God is in the lyrics, He Who provided a place of good out of such evil horror . . . at St. Paul’s Chapel.  The chorus to this old hymn is grand and soaring and can lift anyone’s spirits.

The first verse and the chorus say so much.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.

(Chorus)
Glory, Glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

Glory and glory.  Onward in glory.  Lord, we can never understand the 9-1-1 attacks.  But we know that Your truth and Your sword do march on.  And thank You for being a God who did spare a small place, for good.  Such “small places” are one way in which You do overcome the world

Topics:  Thank God for places such as St. Paul’s Chapel in New York City.
Pray for such places in the world to speak to families in angst over unplanned pregnancies and other LIFE situations, through ways only God can provide.
Pray for those associated with small places of good, that their offerings of good will be noticed, received, and effective in others’ lives.
