John 16:33 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Small Places of Good.  Topics:  2 at end.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”  (AKJV)  Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

St. Paul’s Chapel across the street from the World Trade Center holocaust on 09-11-2001 was a small-place-of-good for rescue and recovery workers helping the injured.  Places such as this can well be considered “small places of good.”  Where might other such places be?  There are probably so many to count, if we could.

Small places that offer goodness often go unheralded, except for those that have been blessings to those in great need.  Such sites might represent Jesus’ words to be of good cheer because He has “overcome the world.”  People who help others through their great trials, often from evil intent, are often found in small settings.

It may be a food pantry in a local church.  It may be a safe-house for unwed mothers to have a safe place to live until their baby is born.  It may be a community center for senior citizens who collect valuable box tops for a nearby school with many poor families.  Perhaps it is a little-recognized coffee shop that lets a man with stomach cancer eat his breakfast there a little at a time, over the course of a morning.

Where are the small places of good in pro-life work?  Small crisis-pregnancy centers come to mind first.  These ministries are often staffed mostly by volunteers along with an employee or two.  They are havens of life.  These small buildings mean the world to a family that has been assisted through difficult times with a pregnancy or with assistance after a baby is born (a child that would have earlier, except for the center, be dead before birth).

Even the homes of prayer warriors are small places of good.  God only knows the answers He has sent through the prayers of men and women concerned with the honoring of created LIFE.

Lord, the questions we ask you have to do with our part in the small places of good.  Is there one waiting to be established?  And Lord, please pour Your Spirit onto the ones we know about and help us contribute what we can if that be your will for us.

Topics:  Pray for those who support or work at little places that offer good to the weary and hurting.  And let these places lay out cheer unto overcoming the world.
