Luke 2:38   From the Cradle (Manger) to Natural End

Speaking of 84-year-old Anna the prophetess in the Temple:  “And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.”

Redemption came through this Baby so loved and praised by Anna, the quite elderly prophetess.  Just like all persons rejoicing over a new birth, she talked to many about the new baby, especially those seeking redemption.  Our nation as a whole must seek redemption—and it will come one person at a time through belief in the Baby of Bethlehem.  But also, at the other end of the spectrum of life spans, we must recognize the importance of the aged and what they speak.  Our prayer is, God, that we may be faithful to hold up the importance of LIFE, from the cradle (or manger) to life’s natural end.
