Proverbs 4:18 - Until Full Day

Thought/Prayer: Topics:  2 at end.

“But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.”  RSV  (Read this scripture and more at

I am totally humbled.  A phone call late last night – from forever-friends.  He handed the phone to her so she could speak to me while she still is able to talk.  Her walk with the Lord on this Earth is probably ending; I didn’t know.  In fact, she had hoped to follow the path to home this week— but “home” will probably soon be unearthly and dazzling.

My friend has walked in Jesus’ light on her life-path for decades.  She has loved Him for as long as she can remember I’m sure.  I know she is righteous because Jesus is her righteousness.  So her path will shine brighter and brighter and brighter even though, when thinking in earthly terms, it would seem the path is very dark.  But her new “full day” will be with the Lamb who is the Light of Heaven, in the heavenly city.  “And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”  Revelation 21:23 (KJV)

Although terribly saddened, I rejoice!

Lord, we pray that for any family going through this situation of endings, that you will bestow special graces, and if there are those who do not know You, pull them so close that they have to look up and into Your eyes.  And grant them wisdom to lighten the pains of departure, physical and emotional, as much as You direct.
