Psalm 25:12-15   Thought/Prayer:  Pluck My Feet.  Topics:  2 at end.

“What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.  His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.  The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.  My eyes are ever towards the LORD; for he will pluck my feet out of the net.”  WBS (Read this scripture and more at

When we know we are in trouble in life, even in trouble with the Lord over something we have done or are doing, this scripture can be extremely meaningful, especially the last sentence.  There is so much written in the Bible, that totally honest book, that speaks of God’s children getting themselves (or others getting them) into trouble.  There are many stories and verses that speak of God’s children being in the midst of troubles either of their own making or by others’ actions or influences.

What could be more comforting when one is struggling with deeply troublesome situations than this:  “. . . [the Lord] will pluck my feet out of the net.” We should all shout “Hallelujah!” to this.

Especially when we entangle ourselves in messy situations, we want to know that there is someone to untangle our wayward feet to avoid being taken totally down by whatever it is causing the entanglement.  How do we feel when we know that we are bound by our sins – whether these be of attitude, action, unworthy commitments, unholiness, questionable relationships, and on and on.  Well, we feel that we cannot move forward because of the fishnet ropes holding our feet hostage.  And we feel particularly bound when we know these ropes are of our own making.  “Lord!  We need You to free us.”

Persons struggling with LIFE problems may feel trapped with tangled ropes and unable to move forward. This is when we who honor LIFE may be able to step (freely) forward and begin to help someone loosen the binding ropes.  But we must ourselves be free of our own bindings in order to be of the most help.

Ultimately it is our Lord who loosens anyone’s binding twine.  Lord, help us to come free out of our own error in order to help others who struggle with myriad challenges.  Helps us to live purely, and as You taught us in Your prayer, “Lead us not into temptation.”

Lord, pluck our feet.  And then help us to help others do the same, but with all the glory to You.

Topics:  Pray to know how to let the Lord work to free our feet from the entanglements of sin and then to help others do the same.
