Bill O’Reilly and Eric Garner
Bill O’Reilly, once again you show your ignorance. It irritates me when you go in front of the nation and act like you know everything, even when you claim you don’t know the whole story.
And why would you invite a man like Tavis Smiley on and then agree with him on the assessment of the death of Eric Garner? You said yourself the grand jury documents had not yet been released, so you don’t know exactly what happened.
But, you saw the video. That’s what I just don’t understand. You saw the video! In the video, you can see the officer puts his arm around Eric Garner only to take him to the ground. Once he’s on the ground, he does not have him in the “chokehold,” as you insinuate. As a matter of fact, when Eric Garner is saying “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe,” it’s obvious he can’t breathe because there are grown man on top of him!
Let’s go over the incident again. 1st, an obese, grown man refused arrest. I don’t care what he was being arrested for, there were a number of officers there to arrest him and he refused to allow them to put the handcuffs on. When they tried, he said “don’t touch me,” and started to physically resist arrest. You obviously know nothing about police procedures, because at this point, officers do what is necessary, short of seriously injuring the arrestee, to subdue them.
The officer only had his arm around Garner’s neck long enough to pull him to the ground. At the very first instance of Garner saying “I can’t breathe” the officer let go and put his hand on his head. It’s obvious Garner could not breathe because of all the grown men on top of him. Those men would not have been on top of him if he hadn’t resisted arrest.
Yes, the coroner ruled this as a homicide. The question is, was it an intentional homicide? You obviously know the answer to that is no, it wasn’t.
I’m not going to argue about whether or not the man should’ve been arrested. That’s not the argument. And that’s not what you blabbed about Wednesday night.
With practically the same breath, you stated you couldn’t provide opinion on the situation until you read the grand jury information, then, you commented on how the officer “killed” Garner. And you say looked at the video. I sometimes doubt you look at anything you claim to say you look at. Because if you would have done so, you would know the officer did not have his arm around Garner’s neck when Garner was on the ground. It’s that obvious.
Bill, stop trying to play the middle-of-the-road. It’s causing you to lose sight of the truth. You should know there’s something wrong with your judgment if you start agreeing with left-wing lunatics.
