Media Alert: Charmaine Quoted in The Wall Street Journal on the Palin Pick

Your Business Blogger(R) and Charmaine flew back from Minneapolis after meeting with 300 of our closest conservative friends—she will be flying back for the convention on Monday for the official nomination of the next president of the USofA:  John McCain.

We had a chance to celebrate with Charlie Black, Frank Donatelli and Bob Heckman who may have been a bit surprised by the overwhelming emotional reaction, the tears, the standing O’s when Sarah Palin was picked.

McCain’s pick for VP, Sarah Palin, is exciting the conservative pro-life base.

Polling has McCain up over Obama by 2 points—47 percent to 45.  Obama got a bounce after his convention—what the economists call a ‘dead cat bounce.’  But Obama’s temple talk didn’t survive Palin’s passion.

Look for McCain to continue his lead over Obama.

The McCain campaign has taken in over $7 million in the 24 hours since the announcement of Palin as VP.

Charmaine’s observations have been picked up by a number of news outlets.

Alaska’s Gov. Palin Targets Those Stung

Sen. John McCain chose first-term Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, little known on the national stage, as his vice-presidential running mate—a surprise stroke aimed at attracting Hillary Clinton supporters, but which could undercut the campaign’s key theme of experience…

“We are thrilled,” said Charmaine Yoest, president of Americans United for Life Action, an anti-abortion group. In an email message, she wrote: “It’s a BRILLIANT pick. In one move he energizes pro-lifers AND reaches out to Hillary supporters.” Overall, the pick went over well with the Republican Party’s conservative base—long wary of Sen. McCain, who has struggled during the campaign to keep party loyalists in line.

Palin brings God and guns to Republican ticket

By Ed Stoddard - Analysis Reuters - Saturday, August 30 01:46 pm

DALLAS (Reuters) - Conservative Republican prayers for the November 4 presidential election may have been answered.

John McCain’s choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate sends a clear message to the party’s conservative religious base: God and guns are on the ticket…

Palin’s status as a “working mom,” whose children range in age from 5 months to 18 years, could be one drawback in the eyes of some conservative U.S. Christians who strongly believe that a mother’s place is in the home. But others give her credit for being a devoted mother who they say has been able to balance career and family.

“I have five kids too and I think it is exciting when you see someone who is working actively to make her family a part of her mission,” said Charmaine Yoest, president of Americans United for Life Action, an anti-abortion group.

“And her decision to have her child when she knew he had Down’s syndrome is a beautiful, beautiful story,” Yoest said.

Instant Reaction to the Palin Selection as GOP VP Pick

Americans United for Life Action President and CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest: “With this bold and inspired selection, Sen. McCain has verified his stated commitment to assembling a truly pro-life administration. The Republican ticket stands in stark contrast to the stridently pro-abortion ticket put forth by the Democratic Party. You can be sure the vice presidential selections will have far-reaching ramifications in this race.”

Charmaine had no early information but some Twitter tweets were most generous in giving her credit for something she didn’t do on McCain’s picking Palin,

I actually think that Huckabee’s senior adviser Charmaine Yoest had something to do with this pick

here’s what Yoest wrote http://tinyurl.com/5ctnmj McCain was hugely problematic for this contingent
